Set Next Scheduled Date

You can set the next scheduled date and procedure interval for any asset displayed on the Assets tab, This option is only available for date-based schedules and cannot be used for records where the schedule is based on an organizational attribute of the asset (such as department).

  1. Select the check box to the left all the assets you want to schedule.

A check mark appears next to the selected records.

  2. Click the Set Next button.

The Set Next Scheduled Date dialog box opens, summarizing current information about the schedule.

  3. Set the desired Next Scheduled Date.

    • A schedule that generates work orders on the a fixed date provides prompts to specify the next month and year, with the day of month already set. This makes it easier to choose the next appropriate date.

    • Other schedules, such as those that generate "every # months" or on the "third Thursday of every six months" provide only a date prompt. Choose a date that matches the schedule definition shown at the top of the page.

  4. Indicate whether you want to Set the next procedure interval on selected records.

This check box only displays if you have selected multiple assets to update.

Select this check box if you want to reset the selected records to a defined procedure interval. Once selected, you can choose the desired interval from the Next Procedure Interval. The control includes all possible intervals for the defined schedule.

This control is set not selected by default, preventing updates to the next scheduled date from affecting the next scheduled procedure defined for each asset.

  5. Click Apply.

If the date entered does not match the parameters of the schedule, a warning displays. You must fix the date so that it matches the specified schedule. The system updates each selected PM asset record. The appropriate historical reference fields on the PM asset records (such as last generated) are updated to ensure that the next schedule date is calculated as specified.
